Christ Church is an Anglican Church found in the leafy suburbs of Grahamstown in Speke Street.
Our mission at Christ Church is: Growing together, up and out, in the love of God the Father in Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Christ Church is one of the Peculiar Anglican churches in South Africa, which while being in Communion with the Church of the Province, and having a priest licensed by the Bishop of the Diocese, has executive authority placed in its own Board of Trustees rather than the Diocese.
Christ Church was built from a bequest from Rosa Wright (1792-1867) as a thank offering. She envisioned a church open to all Christians and low in ritual. The church is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture and has beautiful stainglass windows, including the first stainglass window to be made in South Africa. The Church was opened for worship in 1867 .
